Facts on Aboriginal Relations
This document explains how Aboriginal Relations focuses on three major initiatives;  first nations consultation, traditional use studies and training to employment to encourage positive involvement of Aboriginal people in mineral resource development.  It also promotes Alberta Energy’s Aboriginal Community Link  which improves communication by sharing mineral resource activity information with Alberta’s Aboriginal communities.

Strengthening Relationships
This Aboriginal Policy Framework outlines the Government of Alberta’s approach to Aboriginal affairs.  The Framework provides opportunities to enhance the well-being and self reliance of First Nations, Metis and other Aboriginal people and communities and clarify federal, provincial and Aboriginal roles and responsibilities. To achieve these goals provincial ministries have examined their Aboriginal policies, exchanged information on Aboriginal issues and have co-ordinated their efforts on cross-ministry initiatives.
