This Aboriginal Policy Framework outlines the Government of Alberta’s approach to Aboriginal affairs. The Framework provides opportunities to enhance the well-being and self reliance of First Nations, Metis and other Aboriginal people and communities and clarify federal, provincial and Aboriginal roles and responsibilities. To achieve these goals provincial ministries have examined their Aboriginal policies, exchanged information on Aboriginal issues and have co-ordinated their efforts on cross-ministry initiatives.
