Aboriginal Community Link

The Department of Energy’s Aboriginal Community Link is an interactive mapping website designed to share mineral resource activity information with Alberta’s Aboriginal communities.

The site contains mineral disposition and access restriction information for a variety of minerals, as well as mineral rights posted for public offerings, Crown mineral ownership, pipeline and facility locations, and well data.  Users have the ability to view and print information; however, it does not allow extraction or manipulation of data. A unique login and password will be provided to each First Nation, and Energy staff provide training and ongoing assistance to communities in accessing and interpreting the information.

The Aboriginal Community Link can be a valuable information-sharing tool in Alberta’s consultation efforts with First Nations. The site provides relevant mineral activity information to Aboriginal communities while allowing opportunities to build and strengthen relationships between Alberta and First Nations.

Land Status Automated System (LSAS) ~ Alberta Surface Public Land and Crown Mineral dispositions and activities are contained within the Land Status Automated System (LSAS). This data is essential to the management of agreements that cover publicly owned resources.
