SPECIAL NOTICE

     The following parcels in the Notice of Public Offering for the
     November 17 sale contain wells that are currently shown in the
     records of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (AEUB) as
     "closed", with abandonment orders.

     Successful bidders on these parcels are under no obligation to
     acquire ownership of the wells contained in the parcels.
     However, if anyone wishes to acquire a well, they must:

       1. apply to the Department of Resource Development pursuant to
          Section 33(5)(c) of the Mines & Minerals Act to re-enter
          the well bore (approval will be granted), and
       2. apply to the AEUB to have the well licence transferred into
          their name. Well licence transfers will be processed in
          accordance with the Oil and Gas Conservation Act, the Oil
          and Gas Conservation Regulation and current AEUB policies
          relating to well licence administration.
