The Government of Alberta has named a group of experts to provide detailed advice on establishing a province-wide comprehensive environmental monitoring system. “Our goal is to build a world-class, science-based monitoring system,” said Diana McQueen, Minister of Environment and Water. “This team of scientific, regulatory and academic experts will review governance and funding options and provide recommendations to the government so that we continue making progress.”

The Alberta government is working to address growth pressures in the Fort McMurray region through the transfer of more than 600 acres of land in the Saline Creek area from Keyano College to a land trust for the college. The land will be used for much-needed new residential and commercial development.
