The Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB)  is an independent, quasi-judicial agency of the Government of Alberta. The board regulates the safe, responsible, and efficient development of Alberta's energy resources: oil, natural gas, oil sands, and coal; and the pipelines to move the resources to market.

The Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) is an independent, quasi-judicial agency of the Government of Alberta.  Its mission is to ensure that the delivery of Alberta's utility services take place in a manner that is fair, responsible, and in the public interest.
