Albertans will continue to receive financial assistance with their natural gas bills through the Natural Gas Rebate Program until March 31, 2009.

• For most consumers, rebates will be given for six months of the year, from October through March when residential consumers typically use 80 per cent of their natural gas for the year and when gas prices are traditionally highest.
• The current $5.50 per gigajoule (GJ) trigger price, rebate amounts and $8.75 per GJ price cap for Albertans on the regulated rate remain unchanged and continue to be part of the program.
