Municipal Government Legislation

Most municipalities have been delegated the authority to determine and collect property taxes. In addition, they will also have land-use bylaws that can affect industrial development within each of their jurisdictions. The Alberta Industrial Heartland Association (AIHA), a partnership of four municipalities (Strathcona County, Fort Saskatchewan, Sturgeon County and Lamont County), has developed a report of their member Complementary Area Structure Plans.
